And my name is.....

Hiya
Well can you believe it...I now have a name!!!!
The names thrown about were Senna, Pippin, Amethyst and Fudge....I will reveal it later.
Great news is mum cut up 1st meal of the day.. a good healthy mouse, mice are ideal for young bird as they are high protein meal, put it into a chinese carton and I began to eat it all by myself.
Its ok leaving me to see to myself as its another step to my growing up...I weighed in at 236g and Ive developed the barn owl hiss.....yea Ive joined the pressure cooker hiss club lol.
Anyway today Ive enjoyed 2 mice and a chick and Im now to be officially known as Fudge.
See you all again soon.

I am 23 days old...

Hi guys n girls
How exciting eh? I am 23 days old....yeah!!
Its been a funny old day really...started out with my mum deciding for reasons best known to herself, she took me out in the garden, sat on that green stuff then put me on it...yak I didnt like it one little bit so tried to climb on her feet..didnt work though
But it was mouse today and it was so yummy so I suppose I can sort of forgive her..this time but if it happens again I dont think she will get off so easily....

Mum wanted to weigh me but haha I had other ideas, she has a set of poxy digital kitchen scales so she put me in and I walked off not once but 3 times teehee, then I heard her say think Id better get on Amazon for better scales...think they are coming tomorrow.

Auntie Cindy had a long cuddle with me today, she kept saying how beautiful  I was and how big I am getting...everyone who visits coos over me and oh how I love it.

Back to today, its very clear my mum thinks shes in charge cos she put me and my teddy on that green stuff again to feed me, i got the last laugh when I turned round and showered her with poop... note to mum, I dont like the green stuff.

Anyways ive had a lot of cuddles, yummy mouse and chick nice clean bed so its goodnight from teddy and goodnight from me...the un-named 23 day old barn owl.
See you all again tomorrow

25th June

Good evening
Ive had a nice day today with new faces peering in to my box.
Im gaining weight nicely and today Ive munched my way through 2 chicks..and al fresco too.
Have to say its been a very hot day today, mum had me outside with her for a short time thank goodness she didnt keep me out too long.
Its lovely when people see me for the 1st time...always the same questions what is it? How old is it and finally, can you really keep a real live Barn Owl and of course the answer is always the same, yes if you buy from reputable breeder and have all the paperwork.
And now for todays photos.

The picture below shows
a cast, this is regurgatated
food waste like fur, feather, bone,
Although it looks yakky it is in fact sterile not that Id want to try it.
KOk friends its well past my bed time so its goodnight from me.
See you again tomorrow

Our Day 3 - 23 June

Well hello friends
As you should have now worked out we have a new addition to our family...
so let me tell you a story...
After losing poor Gizmo the Tawny Owl we were on the lookout for a young owl and saw 2 for sale quite close to where we live.
Thursday 21st June 2018 we collected our little fluff ball who was born on 3rd June so just 18 days old...
And today the story begins...obviously we have no idea as to what sex it is, nor do we have a name for it....Layton (our grandson Layton has been asked to name the owl, but its not as easy as you would think!!)
I am going to share a few photos with you showing the owl on day 18 thats the photos with Layton.
Day 19  shows the owl on my bed and day 20 shows the owl on a piece of green rag, you will soon see how quickly these cuties actually grow.

I havent yet got a decent set of scales but owl was 200g on Friday and 206 Saturday.
Owl is having mice and chicks until I can get to the pet superstore
See you tomorrow
